excited2lose 0 Posted March 5, 2010 I have started running every day. I hope to run a marathon by the end of the year. :drool5: I love it. The thing is-I am sticking with 30g of carbs, but everything that I have read with runners is that you need more carbs for fuel. I am wondering if I should up my carbs a bit when running. Any thoughts?
filodough 1 Posted March 5, 2010 I don't know what the answer is to that... but congratulations on setting an awesome goal. We will cheer you on to the marathon.
deedee 5 Posted March 6, 2010 I tried to listen to my body and when I started craving carbs when working out so hard, I increased my intake by adding more fruits (and even some bad carbs, not that I'd recommend that). Now I'm not a runner, so I don't have any answers for that per se, and my weight loss did slow a bit when I did it, but it never stopped. If more carbs becomes a bad thing to your weight loss then you could always drop them down again. Good luck and congratulations on your fitness journey! thinoneday 445 Posted March 7, 2010 If we are to get 30 g of carbs or less, how much grams of fat are we supposed to get as well?
