filodough 1 Posted February 27, 2010 Thank you 'THISISIT' for posting about Siggis Yogurt. IT IS OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! It is icelandic traditional yogurt. From the website: It is made by incubating skim milk with live active cultures. The whey, the Water naturally found in milk, is then strained away to make for a much thicker, creamier, concentrated yogurt. So to make just one cup of skyr, with all that water going out, you need 3 - 4 times the amount of milk required to make a regular cup of yogurt. As a result of this process skyr comes out with 2-3 times the Protein count of standard yogurt. Here is the caloric info- low carbs, and TONS of PROTEIN!!! INGREDIENTS: Skim Milk, Live Active Cultures, Vegetable Rennet CULTURES: B. Lactis, L. Acidophilus, L. Delbrueckiee Subsp. Bulgaricus, L. Delbrueckiee Subsp. Lactis, S. Thermophilus

MINI-Me 196 Posted February 27, 2010 Cool - looks like they carry it at the grocery store where my don works. I will have him get me some. Thanks!
Stacy160 201 Posted February 28, 2010 Well, crap... the closest store to me that carries it is the Whole Foods in Rochester. Shouldn't be surprised since the closest city to me is the armpit of Michigan! (That would be Flint. There's one place worse than the armpit, which would be Detroit.) Well, next time I make a trip down there I'll definitely look for Siggis, it sounds great!
lauramomof3 2 Posted February 28, 2010 Wow i will have to try this yogurt. I love yogurt but not the carb count. What flavors do you guys like? I found this brand at a local organic shop in chattanooga, tn. I will let you guys know which ones i like. Thanks,
filodough 1 Posted March 1, 2010 My favorite so far is the orange ginger. Tastes very 'high-end', like a gourmet yogurt.
Lee 19 Posted March 1, 2010 Thanks for this suggestion. I went to Whole Foods this morning and found it there. I tried the plain and also got a vanilla for a treat. I don't generally get the flavored yogurts because the carb count is higher. Maybe I'll get a ginger one next time. I really liked the plain without anything in it. Just really tart and yummy!
