Drinking 64oz of Water a day has been the HARDEST thing for me to do. I can diet / exercise....but know there is now way I get anymore than 40/50oz of water in even on a hard workout day.

I have about 8oz of coffee in the AM - then it's flavored water / crystal lite the rest of the day & I'm in the "Loo" all the time.

I enjoy Water and drink copious amounts. The challenge is to get it in given the limitations around meals. But, I have a litre bottle on my desk at work and usually sip 2 or 3 refills during the day, I have water as soon as I get up, as soon as I get home from work, and sip all evening. I was using a lot of Crystal Light but started weaning myself off of that - why drink the calories? I know it is only a few, but every little bit helps.

Uhh, I drank heaps before being banded but now it's gone down. I have a cup of tea in the morning and then I'm not thirsty so I don't drink =( I know I need to get into the habit of sipping and I tried it yesterday but I didn't even get thru half of my 600ml water bottle. Add on that that I might have about 300ml of sustagen every other day and I know I'm definitely not getting heaps of fluids in. I did when I was first banded cuz I was required to drink about 50ml every 20-30 minutes and then it was upped to 250ml (1 cup) which I never drank that much anyway. I dunno, I just know I need to up it heaps.

At least 62 ounces a day, especially during the summer.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
