We are celebrating my daughter's birthday tonight and I already told my husband that I wouldn't be eating cake and ice cream with everyone else. Well, he just came home with sugar free ice cream. (Sweetened with Splenda) To be honest, I am not an ice cream fan and I really don't care to have any. But now my daughter is all excited and my husband thinks he did something miraculous. :)

I am on mushies. Would it be okay to have a few bites? If not, just tell me. I just wanted to see before I did it. :)

That is awesome...you've got a good one! :) I'd say go for it too...won't be much different than a Protein Shake, just without as much Protein. But you know.... don't have that much LOL.

How sweet is that! What a nice gesture on your hubbies part! It's not like your going to be eating it all the time, this is a celebration, go for it! Take a bite or two for me! Plus it's sugar free, whats the difference between the ice cream or sugar free popsicles! Enjoy!

That is so awesome. You definitely have a keeper. That was very sweet, BUT but sugar free.

(OK, I like to pretend that I am funny. But, I know I'm not! :))

Awww! He feels really bad because he ALWAYS buys me chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's day. Not this year of course! The best part was that he stopped in the middle of the blizzard to get the ice cream! Very sweet! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
