I am Not Doing Good AT This!!!

Recommended Posts

ok so I feel like I need to confess now.

I have been very good with following the food portion.

However........

I have had coffee.

How bad is that?:)

A lot of people have coffee. It doesn't count as a liquid because of the caffeine, but as long as you're getting in your recommended amount of Clear Liquids it should be fine. Some believe it's a diuretic so it's not recommended unless you can get in your full amount of liquids to keep you hydrated.

I indulge in coffee with full fat Creamer french vanilla or caramel macchiato creamer from time to time.

You aren't weak, you're human. We all have our vices. I started smoking again post-op, and having a really difficult time quitting this time around. I've actually had to get a prescription of Wellbutrin to help with the withdrawls and mood swings. I quit twice post-op, and go back to it.

No one is perfect. Enjoy your coffee, it isn't going to sabotage anything. Maybe make ya pee a little more, but that's just extra Water weight you'll lose.

Chin up, buttercup ! ! ! You're gonna do fabulous.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
