Hey there Ishary,

MJ here. Wow, so many responses already. Amazing the support, questions, and they all want to hear from you, (like we are experts now:001_cool:) Ishary and I were Sleeved at the same time by Dr. Almanza. Ishary is right. The first couple of weeks are not so good while your body is healing. It's probably best not to do a whole lot but it gets better and better day by day.

It's good to hear that you are doing well Ishary. Hey, did you already get your stitches out? I am going to my GP tomorrow to get them removed.

Hope you are all doing well. Talk to you soon.

Can't wait for mushies!

Hi MJ!!!!

Yep stitches are out.

Mom took them out for me last weekend and it seems like as soon as I got them out I started to feel better. More normal.

Course that whole weekend I just layed around and watched movies so I am sure that had a lot to do with it as well.

I started the mushies phase but so far all my tummy will tolerate is refriend Beans (YUM) and smooshed up carrotts oh and Cream of wheat.

I cant really tolerate the cold foods well except Yogurt that seems to go down ok. But Cottage cheese yep not so much.

This site is GREAT by the way MJ thanks so much for telling me about it!!

Big Hug to all!!

Thank you so much for asking!

I was just not feeling well very blah and weak. So this morning I made a slight unauthorized change in my menu. I drank a soy based shake. It was like a miracle. I feel so much better. I think the whey was disagreeing with me.

Its not clear but I am 7 days post op. I feel pretty good for the first time. I walked outside again. I even "supervised" my husband while he brought in some firewood.

You sure sound great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
