FreeToBeMe 2 Posted February 7, 2010 I know I need to ask this of my coordinator but would like to get y'all opinions on this. I love to make egg drop Soup with the eggbeaters and wondering how soon after I am sleeved can I get back to it? What about adding ground black pepper? TIA, Pennie
Stacy160 201 Posted February 8, 2010 I would think having it in the pureed stage would be fine...you'd just still want to chew the egg good. Do double-check that with your nutritionist though.
Malaika 50 Posted February 8, 2010 You could do egg drop Soup on your liquid/full liquid stage if you strain the egg out and on mushies "as is." Black pepper is fine as long as your tummy doesn't react to it. Everyone is different when it comes to spices; and what may not have bothered you pre-surgery may post -- you just have to experiment and see how you do with it. Barbara278 9 Posted February 8, 2010 Egg Drop Soup is the ONLY thing that hasn't agreed with my tummy so far. I made the recipe from the recipe thread here last night for dinner (I'm in mushie stage) and I only ate 2 oz and had a tummy ache most of the night. That's so disappointing to me as I love Egg Drop soup. I'll definitely try it again later because from what I've read, sometimes your tummy changes and you can tolerate things you didn't in the beginning.
