WLS Cookbook - Low Fat High Protein

Recommended Posts

Eating Well After Weightloss Surgery

There's apparently several others available, but I'm going to buy the USED version of this one and see how I like it. I took a peek inside the table of contents, and it looks like there are a lot of yummy recipes that myself and family would enjoy.

It has over 140 recipes for WLS patients. Y'all know I've become a little obsessed with new recipes, and thought I would share this find with everyone here.

This is one of my favorite WLS cookbooks! It's great for every stage because it has a little key next to each recipe and even gives variations of how you can use the recipes in different stages.

Maybe you could post a couple recipes after you try them out? I don't cook enough to buy a cook book, funny as that might sound. I don't like messing up the kitchen just for me.

I was thinking about purchasing this cookbook. Is it worth it?

I bought this cookbook from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. It looks fantastic. I'm still on mushie/pureed food, so I haven't tried anything yet. The recipes look good and I like how it is formatted for regular eaters and WLS eaters. I'll post a recipe after I try one. Only a week to go to get solids - I can't wait to chew something :-))

I'm a recipe junkie also. I have this book. It's great !!! It breaks it down by WLS patients nutrition and tells how much to have during the different stages that we go through.

My surgeons office also recommended it.

The 'Before and After : Living and Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery' also has wonderful recipes in it. I made the chicken caccitore last night, and even my pickiest eater ate it. I made rice for him to go with it.

The only thing that bugs me about these WLS cookbooks and they they are too high-carb and sometimes too high fat for me. But I realize that's my particular issue, right or wrong. I have to modify all the recipes. All these RNY cookbooks assume you don't absorb all your calories.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
