Yoplait now makes Greek yogurt

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I was at the grocery store today and came across a brand new Greek yogurt made by Yoplait! I've heard a lot of you talk about Greek yogurt because it's so high in Protein and low in carbs and figured I would have to go to a specialty health market to find it. So I was surprised to find it and just thought I'd share. :thumbup1:

Thanks for sharing that! I get my Fage plain non-fat at costco by the quart for $6.99. In a pinch I get it a Trader Joe's but it's more expensive there. It lasts forever. I'll look for the new Yoplait brand.

Have you tried it yet. I hope it is good. I did not like the one I tried...even after adding splenda.

I found a new brand at our Publix here in Florida. It's called Chobani, and I purchased the ones flavored with pineapple and some with strawberry. I haven't been able to try them yet because of the antibiotics I was on couldn't be taken with any dairy products.

Hopefully, this next week, I'll be able to try this brand and report back with a review. I really like the Okios vanilla flavor when I add a Splenda to it. The Fage brand wasn't as smooth as the Okios in my opinion. I'll keep my eyes open for the Yoplait brand to see if it's in our stores here.

Well now I understand why everyone adds Splenda to greek yogurt...yuck! I don't think I can learn to like it. I might have to stick with my Yoplait light.

I found the Kroger brand low carb yogurt. It has 12 g of Protein, 80 calories and 3 carbs. That was better numbers than the Yoplait Greek yogurt that I saw. To me, it tastes a whole lot better too.

I just discovered this too. I can only eat about 1/2 of a container (if that) at a time so it lasts 2 meals! I was surprised at how good it tastes with such low carbohydrates. YUMMY!!!! :001_unsure:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
