I had a hernia repaired when I had the sleeve done and was hoping my burping days were over. Does this get better??? When???? I sure do chew a lot of pepcid and it sounds so rude!:blushing:

I am still burping a ton (after any tiny sip). And still massively nauseous. I wonder if the Gas X helps with the burping? If only I could time travel and not have done this! I wish you the best and sorry I don't have any advice.

I'm 6 weeks out now and it's not constant for me anymore. There is still some burping after eating or drinking, but no big man belches for me anymore! :blushing: And they're the kind of little burps where I can keep my mouth closed so I don't draw everyone's attention. I think I burp less & less every day. But from what stacie said, maybe it's different for everyone?

I'm almost 1 week post-op and I'm burping a whole lot! One weird episode I had tonight was weird stomach cramps that come and go. It felt like contractions! I don't know if maybe I ate too late or the yogurt I had was too thick but it freaked me out! Has anything like this happened to anyone before?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
