Bambi 0 Posted January 31, 2010 I can't believe I knocked myself out to lose 20lbs on the preop diet, and when I get home from the hospital I find that I gained 13lbs...This is nuts!!! I know it's only Water, blah, blah, blah, but it's killing me knowing I still have 7 more pounds to lose just to get back to pre-surgical weight....OY! Lee 19 Posted January 31, 2010 Bambi, I'm still pre-op for another week, but I had my gallbladder out on 11/2/09. I weighed myself Monday morning before leaving for the hospital. I weighed again the next day and was 10 pounds up. I didn't eat anything so it was obviously the IV etc. I think it took 4-5 days until everything was out of my system and I was back to the Monday weight. My case manager told me not to get on the scale for a week after VSG, then to weigh daily for life. Hang in there!
MidwestGirl 8 Posted January 31, 2010 (edited) I was up 10 pounds & I know it feels like you've somehow failed when you see those numbers (I felt the same way!) :frown1: But like Bella said, it doesn't last long! amerigirl 0 Posted January 31, 2010 I gained 15, but I also traveled a long way. I had my surgery on the 21st. Weighed 325. When I got home on Saturday night I weighed 340. Today I weighed 316. It doesn't last long at all! It took me 4 days to lose that 15 pounds. It comes off fast.
Brendasgonnalose 4 Posted February 1, 2010 I gained 10lbs, But know I'm down 20 in only 12 days. It's from the IV fluids they pump into you. Brenda
