Not feeling so hot, but it is done. I had to stay an extra day because my oxygen levels were low, but I am home now. I had some baby applesauce when I got home, now I am having a Protein Shake. I am in some pain, but not too bad. I didn't have much gas pain either. I was just so tired of sitting in that bed. Oh well. It is done now!

I am. I *was* feeling all the way back to normal, but today I seem to be really weak. I have no idea if that is normal or not. I am one week out.

excited, I had good days and bad days during the first two weeks. I'd have 3 or 4 great days in a row, and then one bad one. I think it's normal. Just keep getting that Protein and fluids in. Glad to hear you are doing ok.

How goes life at work now Barb? Your arm doing better? Good to hear things like this with days ups and downs, so I can know what I can expect in the future.

Phatmanwalking, in all honesty, most days were good, but every now and then I'll feel a little tired of not so good in between.

Update on the arm. Yesterday was my first day back to work so I used my arm quite a bit. It did swell some (not nearly as bad as before) and it hurt some as well.

Starting today, the doc has me taking aspirin twice daily. And I have to up my Nexium to 2 times a day to protect my tummy from the aspirin.

So we will see how that works. I do beleive that it is getting better, just very slowly.

I was also told to start gently massaging it during the day.

I'm still praying and hoping it goes away soon.

Thanks for asking. Hope you are doing well. :confused1:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
