Do you think transition to liquid prior to surgery ...

Hello, this question is really posed to folks who already had the surgery.Anyone who had complications such as vommiting etc... Do you think transition to liquid prior to surgery instead of Atkins would have helped.It is a major insult to the stomach having this surgery, but I'm wondering if the shock of no food suddenly could be a possible cause.:confused1:

Haven't had the surgery yet, but I asked my surgeon about this one. He said about 30% of his patients are pukers, no matter what he does. He said the liquid diet two weeks prior helps the average rather than hurting it.

the first few days i had terrible vomiting and dry heaves. but they subsided by day three.
