Back Pain after eating

Recommended Posts

Anyone else get back pain after eating mushies or solids? I get it after eating even very mushy salmon diluted into a mush...it is right between my shoulder blades. I am not a person to take pain medicine but I have to stop working and take tylenol to get some relief, after I eat, the pain is so bad.

Anyone else getting this?

Tiffy had weird pain when they decided it was her gall bladder. My pain was just textbook, on the right side. I believe Tiffy said hers was by her collarbone. I am not sure about back pain.

Hope you get it figured out!

Cajun, just saw this post. No I don't get this pain. I think you had your gallbladder out also? I have heard several referred pains through and around to the back with gallbladder dz but that isn't your case. I've never heard you say this bf, is it just recently? What about your issue with the diverticulum? Just tossing that out there.

I've had back pain and odd pain under my left breast. I have no gallbladder. I'm wondering too about the pains.

Hello,

A few people in my support group reported getting back pains between the shoulder blades if they ate just a bite too many. Im still pre-op so have no experience of my own.

I had my gallbladder out last November, but never had pain in that spot.

From what I have read, "referred pain" between the shoulder blades after eating can actually be a symptom of several different things, the most common of them being gall bladder disease. However, pain associated with disorders of the esophagus, stomach and pancreas may cause pain under the right shoulder blade.

Any problem that causes irritation of the diaphragm can also cause shoulder blade pain. An example would be an ectopic pregnancy.

A viral respiratory infection could leave you with pleurisy (inflammation of the lining of the lung) that might cause pain in your back. Pneumonia and pulmonary emboli may also do this.

This is just information that I picked up in my reading, but as you can see, it can be a possible symptom of many different things. The best thing to do in this instance, is to see your primary care provider, explain what you are feeling and when, and have them do an examination to determine exactly what the problem may or may not be.

I get pains like that now and I haven't had my surgery yet..I have had my gallbladder removed since 2008.. But I take an acid controller which helps me alot. I notice a huge difference if I don't take it. Also, I was told I should be tsted for H. Pylori which is a bacteria that causes ulcers from what I'm told it's very common if your prone to ulcers which I am. The treatment is several antibiotics at once and can be repeated w new antibiotics if tested and found the first round didn't kill the bacteria. I would definately talk to your doctor about the pain. It may be a simple med adjustment... Keep us posted and good luck!

I have had H Pylori and that's why I got confused when I had gall bladder pain. The pain was in the same place, on my right side, under my boobs. It did go through to the back, but that's not between the shoulder blades. It was to the right.

Itstime,

I'm not sure if it is the divertic, could be. Maybe a little food gets stuck in there for a while, from time to time. My GB is long gone. Referred pain from the esophagus and the stomach both can go to the area where I hurt. One person answered she has it from eating too fast. That is a possibility too, sometimes I don't take my time, especially at work. It sure is aggravating. Thanks for responding.

Susan:

Definitely not pg, at my age and with no "oven". No respiratory symptoms. My PCP punts on my case due to the diverticulum which is out of her league, and she's smart to do so. Thanks for responding>

sometimes it's really hard to remember to eat slowly. I hate when I forget cause the consequences are not pretty. I felt really sorry for the guy sitting next to me on the plane on my last trip back from AZ. I had eaten really quickly to get on the plane , and then the "keep seat belt on" sign was on forever.

I am sure I disgusted the poor young man.

Seeing as how I was released from the hospital for an accute gallbladder attack last weekend I can say:

Get it checked out! You need bloodwork and a gallbladder function test. Yup.

All of my pain went from below my sternum, in my stomach, and then it shot across my left rib and up to my left collarbone and hit where the collarbone and shoulder meet. It's a sharp, gnawing, constant pain. Not throbbing or thready.

Yesterday, the pain started radiating under both sides of my abdomen/ribs, and then up to my left collarbone and shoulder again.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
