Anyone else experience this?

Recommended Posts

If I eat several small meals all day, I have no problems. However, last week my husband was sick and I was f/t with the baby and paid no attention to eating what-so-ever. One day I didn't get a chance to eat until the afternoon and I got so sick. Next day, same thing - basically threw up everything I ate!

I wonder if it is kinda like before the sleeve, when you don't eat for a while, your stomach shrinks and you get full faster? Has anyone else had anything similar happen?

I also noticed more of my hair coming out last week, I assume b/c I was just not eating much at all. :(

This week I am eating a bar in the car on the way to work and another one at mid-morning.

hair loss usually starts at about 4 months for most people no mater what kind of Vitamins and supplements they take, or what they eat.

Can you get some ready to drink Protein drinks to drink in the morning. I remember you had problems with ingredients in Protein Drinks.

Yeppers, if I wait too long between meals, or if I get busy running errands, and don't eat until later in the day, I kind of feel like my stomach is clamped down. I usually drink something warm to relax my stomach, and then I'm able to eat normally. I haven't thrown up, but I do understand what you dealt with those days.

Warm Water sounds like a great idea- maybe next time I will have a hot tea. Glad to know I am not the only one who has had that happen.

Oregon - I am at 2 months out...but noticed a huge surge of hair coming out last week when I was eating so inconsistently. Just like before the surgery, weekends and days I am not at work, I struggle with consistency. I'm getting a bit better about it, though, b/c I would rather not spit up food again! blech.

my stomach feels clamped down most of the time, but that is ok, like Tiff, i drink something warm wait 15 minutes then eat something. . . wait 30 minutes and drink warm again. . . then in about 1 hour it clamps down again. . . then i just sip and continue to sip til the next meal. . .I've just come to except that is how it's going to be until i can start my regular diet. . .

I've had this problem too, but always assumed it was because I ate too fast/too much because I waited too long to eat.

My hair started coming out around 2.5 months post-op and started coming out a lot less by about 4.5 months post-op. Now at almost 6 months post-op, it's still coming out a bit, but not bad at all. I guess we're all just different.

My hair came out pretty bad about 4 months after my c-section. I had a huge bald spot in the front for about 2 weeks...then it grew back great, so I am hoping that I get the same result with this. eep. Knock on wood and all that!

My stomach will still knot up on me occasionally, just like a spasm, feels good to rub it. Don't know what causes it but is more prevalent in the early evening. Something warm does feel good like Tiff said. The other night I cheated and had popcorn that just dissolved in my mouth and went down so easy...too easy. Got to be careful.

ya, I noticed that too!! and I am happy about it. cuz at those busy days, I eat little to compensate for some bad days when I do nothing but obsessing about food.

I love it when my sleeve tell me to stop! I wish that last forever.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
