The day you left your recovery facility...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I hope you're doing well!

Could you tell me how you were feeling, physically, after leaving your recovery site, please? I will be at my recovery facility for 3 days. After that, the plan is to be in San Diego for 2 nights. One of my favorite places is Seaworld and I want to walk and sit through there for a few hours. I will have my Water with me as well as a bottle of my Protein Drink.< /span>

What do you think? Did anyone else do something similar?

Thank you!

....4 sleeps until surgery!

Oh boy. You know I honestly don't think I could have done it. I got tired easily the first two weeks out of surgery. But I know there are some on this board that would have done it and had no problem.

If you do go make sure you stay hydrated! I know this is said over and over again but it is that important. Oh by the way I don't know what days you were thinking of going but San Diego is wet right now and will be for awhile. Check the weather. You don't want to be out in cold rainy weather for a long period right after being on a ventilator. No reason to risk an infection in your lungs.

I couldn't have done it. That early out I still needed a lot of rest, but we are all different.

I think that would have been rough for me as well. Just getting through the airport and making my way to the truck had me pooped. I wasn't sleepy as I had plenty of rest at the recovery house for 4 days, your body at that time is running on vapors. You haven't eaten anything real for a week counting the pre-op liquid diet. I know it sounds nice and relaxing, but I think it would not be all that enjoyable, especially the price you pay for admission. Maybe you could rent a motorized wheel chair to motor around the park. You could mix in some walking, but still have the chair for the majority of the transportation issues.

I don't know if you will feel like doing that, what will that make it 4 days after surgery?? I flew home on the 4th day and that was about all I could take. I think you could probably make about an hour but then you would be pooped!! They have a lot of shopping there too, and that does not cost to get into! I would hate to see you pay to get in there and not enjoy it.

Good luck to you, and happy losing!!

I was sleeved on jan 28th in Mexico.

I live in Los Angeles and we stopped in old town San Diego for Soup and bought some candy for the family back home.

I was wiped out and just the little bit of walking that we did had me cramping.

I did the 3 nights in the hospital and then the trip back to San Diego on the 4th morning. I decided to stay an extra night in San Diego before the flights home to give me a bit of a breather. We did do quite a bit of walking around the hotel & premises just to get my walking in after surgery & I felt really good. I was nowhere near as tired as I thought I would've been, but that said, I still don't know if I could have handled Seaworld?

I'd say see how you're feeling after that drive back to San Diego & your first night in the San Diego hotel. You will be your best judge, just take care of yourself, don't overdue it & keep your health and well being as your first thought! Safe travels!

I have to say, I couldn't wouldn't have been up to Seaworld. I just wanted to be at my house. I was pooped, and felt enough out of sorts, that being in a busy public area just would not have been relaxing for me.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
