cool photo of healed VSG

Recommended Posts

I had an EGD (where they look inside your stomache with a camera) this week. I asked the doc to take a picture of my healed suture line, because I've always been curious as to what it looks like. It is neatly healed up, running along the bottom of the photo...a pale line in the sleeve.

That is so neat!! I have pictures of my sleeve. I asked that they take before and after pictures during surgery. The body is just so amazing and resilient!

It is the paler orange line that extends diagonally along the bottom of the sleeve, starting at the lower left hand of the picture, going up toward the upper right hand of the picture.

Could you post it here so we can see what it looks like when it is new?

very good of you to share. I too wondered what it looked like. I have my Xray photo of my sleeve, but, nothing actually inside.

I can share this with my friends/interested people.

Thank you.

That is great. My wife will really like seeing this, and it may help her understand how completely the body heals.

She still suffers a little from anxiety about it truley being healed.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
