One of my new year's resolution is to eat more fish. I like it but don't really have fast and easy recipes to use. Can you please share your favorite fish recipe?

Thanks much

There is a recipe site called Recipezaar. You can go there and just type in "fish" in the search area. It will bring up hundreds of fish recipes. You can then sort it by ratings. There is one that is a baked herbed fish (I think it is recipe #26451 (you can enter this number in the search area) that is great.

If you have a Trader Joe's around you close, they have awesome fish. Just about all that I've tried are great. They have a crab stuffed sole that is good. My favorite is the Teriyake (?spelling) salmon. There is a breaded halibut in a blue and yellow package that comes in really small pieces and is fantastic when baked.

They also have really great Bison burgers that are very high in Protein for something different. The one with mushroom and cheese in it is fantastic.

My favorite fish is swai. It's available at Kroger's in individual ( 4 oz ) servings for about $1. I prepare it a number of different ways. I've coated it with an egg wash, whole wheat panko and parmesan cheese and fried it in the skillet. I've coated it with egg white and a light dusting of flour and cornmeal and fried it in the skillet. I've spread it with a teaspoon or so of Dijonaisse and baked or broiled it in my toaster oven. It has a very mild taste and is a perfect fish for someone that doesn't really like fish and is trying to add it to their diet.

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi - All Recipes

This one is super yummy, read the reviews on how to make it a bit more "healthy". I prefer baking this one as well.

This is similar to the one my mom makes

Orange Roasted Salmon - All Recipes

The Mahi Mahi sounds yummers! I think I have Mahi Mahi filets in the freezer. I will need to go buy some ginger tomorrow.

I read a recipe on Bariatric Eating or somewhere to bake tilapia with grated parmesean cheese, instead of bread crumbs. It is delicious with a bit of lemon squeezed on it too.

Easy, just rub a tiny bit of olive oil to the fish to make it wet so the cheese sticks. Lemon is up to you!

YUMMMM

I second the talapia. It comes in little pieces which are just the right size. it's a mild white fish and goes down well. I put a little lemon juice on it after it's cooked

and cook it in a little bit of olive oil. It takes just a few min. to cook.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
