I had headaches the first couple weeks the nurse said probally wasnt getting enough Protein and fluids. I did have a hard time trying to get my Proteins and fluids down. I also was diabetic and had high bp but no more. Just keep trying to hydrate your self and get your Protein Shakes in it does help. Good luck.

having a headache makes things so much more difficult. I am a Migraine sufferer. As was previously stated do what you can to stay hydrated and try your best to get in enough Protein even if at minimum which I think may be 50 grams. I am suffering with a migraine myself today. Also some things that have helped me to cope with the headaches have been vicks vapor rub on my head, the peel of lemon (I paste the inside of it to the spot where my head aches worst with the vicks and then put an ice pack on top.. Best wishes.

My headaches stemmed from not getting enough Water that early out (I also wasn't getting in all of my Protein, but when I upped my water, the headaches eased). You may want to check in with your surgeon and/or other doctor due to your diabetes and high bp. Keep us posted.

My husband had terrible headaches for a couple of weeks following his surgery. We think it was mostly caffeine withdrawal actually.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
