I thought it would be fun to post what everyone's menu looked like for the holiday season. I know this isn't necessarily fair for the recently post-op, or pre-ops on the pre-op diet, but believe me, you will all be so much happier when you can enjoy normal meals.

Our menu:

Brown Sugar/Citrus glazed Ham ( I searched this town high and low for a standing prime rib, but to no avail, I couldn't find one)

Mashed Potatoes/Gravy

Fresh Green Beans (canned by John's mom)

Broccoli/Cheese/Rice (Green Giant Steamer bag = LOVE)

Crescent rolls (with homemade/canned raspberry jelly from John's mom)

There's a Reese's no bake Peanut Butter brownie setting up in the fridge. I figured I'd at least get a little Protein in if I was going to indulge in a sweet this season. HA Ha ha ! ! ! I don't have any room for anything else to be honest.

I enjoyed about 2oz of ham, 2oz of broccoli/rice/cheese, 2 bites of the green beans, and about 2/3 of a crescent roll with jelly and brummel & brown butter.

I walked away from the table so satisfied, and truly feeling happy that I didn't gorge myself like so many Christmas past.

God has blessed my family immensely this year. I'm so thankful for my husband's safe return from Afghanistan, my health, this surgery, my family, and friends. I can't even express the pure joy all of you guys have given me through your support and encouragement.

Please pray for our troops and their families, pray for our country as a whole, and may God bless each and everyone of you. For those struggling, please know it does get better, persevere, and you'll grow stronger each day.

Merry Christmas!

Great idea Tiff!

Tonight we had:

Prime Rib - you are always able to find a standing prime rib roast in Texas w/ creamed horseradish

Baked Potato's

Chili's cheese Casserole - love it

Fruit salad

Crescent Rolls

I had about 2.5 ounces of prime rib, about 3 bites of baked potato (loaded - I shared one potato with my two boys), about 5 bites of casserole, 2 bites of fruit, I skipped the rolls. I am overstuffed at the moment.

Since my knee surgery last week, I have NOT been eating the way I should. I am ready to get all the Holiday junk out of my house and get back to what makes me feel good and continue to lose weight. However, on the other hand....this is why I choose THIS surgery. I have been able to enjoy ALL my Holiday favorites these past few days. I just haven't been able to completely PIG OUT as in years past. My definition of "over eating" has changed significantly (see above dinner).

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

I had a feast. with LOTS Left over!! But My youngest is coming home tomorrow night with a friend of his, so it won't go to waste.

Ham

Mashed potatoes and Gravey

Green bean cassorole

white Beans

fresh creamed corn

Sausage stuffing

and Home made cheese cake for dessert

I did most of my cooking last night, just a tradition, had friends over for drinks and I cook and my son and his friends came by.... and stayed the night.

I got up this morning and made Breakfast of bacon and eggs , and just didn;t want to eat dinner. I did have a bite of ham and green Beans.< /span>

These are the onlhy meals I really like to cook are big ones. but I need to tone it down... cooked WAY too much!! But I got two big boys, and they ( and their friends ) will eat it this week end . I have to work so I will eat off it the next 3 days at work too!! gonna start planning my meals better.. and this is a good start!!

We Celebrate on Christmas Eve, so dinner was basic Swedish Christmas style: I had one slice of turkey, one small potato, mixed green salad and "gravlax" (cured salmon). Plus three chocolates along the evening. I was going to write down the menu but it looked quite weird, with liver paste and beet salad and turnip casserole!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
