Today is day 5 - and so far so good, thank god.

The surgeon I used here in Israel doesn't put in a drain, like I have read so many of you had, which I think makes things easier. She also doesn't recommend Protein Drinks - just straight on to soft liquids like cottage cheese or pudding on day 3. I haven't had nausea at all, just some burning when I drink or eat sometimes. I have noticed that when my stomach is empty, I get an uncomfortable gurgling feeling (Hunger??) which gets better if I eat or drink. I love that I am not really hungry at all. I was a bit depressed on day 3, the day I came home from the hospital, because when I weighed myself I hadn't lost any weight - in fact I had gone up. I felt like when I gave birth and didnt even lose the weight of the baby! But by today the scale seems to have moved down a few kilos, so I am feeling better. My husband said he is going to hide the scale from me! Do you all weigh yourselves a lot too?

One strange thing I did have - a huge black and blue mark appeared yesterday near the rightmost incision. Doctor says it's ok, but I was a little concerned at first.

All in all have to say that I think I got lucky so far in my recuperation, and am very thankful for it. Wishing all my fellow recent sleevers a quick recovery and quick return back to "normal" - whatever that may be for us now.

Take care,

Sarita

Glad you are doing well. Day five for me too, and I have to say I feel better today. I am going to work on moving around more today as I believe I'm still holding on to a lot of Fluid too. I can tell in my wrists. I only got in 40 ounces of Water yesterday (with 46 grams of protein) and 1 cup of Soup throughout the day.

So far so good. But, be glad you don't have this stupid drain. It bugs me, and I'm afraid I'm gonna yank it out by accident. It just hangs there!

Glad to hear you are doing well Sarita. I weigh myself 2-3 times a day, and I've done this since getting home. So, for the last 6 months, I've been scale obsessed. For some it works, for others it makes them insane. It works for me, so I do it.

You'll see the pounds/kilos drop before you know it. I only had the drain after my leak repair surgery not with my initial revision from band to sleeve.

I had the burning sensation as well, but it was remedied by my doctor prescribing Prilosec once daily to prevent an overproduction of acid.

I remember feeling better everyday, and then each week my first couple of months. I didn't weigh myself the first 11 days because my surgeon said I'd be up pounds from the surgery, but I do pretty much weigh myself daily (twice a day when I go to Jazzercise because we have a scale there for a competition we're doing) and it works for me unless I'm in a stall.

I wish you continued success!
