ShoeString NSV

Recommended Posts

This morning when I tied my shoes, it was like any other day, right?

WRONG...as I was getting in my truck, I noticed that the bow was on the TOP of the shoe, instead of the side of the shoe.

((PHAT GIRLS KNOW WHAT I'M TALKIN' BOUT!!))

This is my first NSV, and since my loss has been painfully slow, this is especially sweet!!:clap2:

LMAO @ the eyes popping out, that is so true, and I never even thought about it, and obviously didn't miss it this morning, but my eyeballs ARE still intact.

Yep bows on top are great are they not. Just being able to see the bows has been a great feeling for me.

Heheh ehehe hehehehe.

There's nothing like having to undo your pants in order to tie your shoes.

Know what else that means? You don't have to paint your toenails and just guess the other side looks good, too!

Yay you! :clap2:

Uht oh... DeLarla's been in binge mode and her bows are sideways. I never even realized thin people have straight bows but I'm an extremely anal retentive perfectionist so forget about being healthy, I need to slim down to have straight F-ing bows!

That is a great NSV, congrats!

I will now hang my head and admit that at first I didn't even understand what you were talking about when you used shoes and bows in the same sentence. I haven't worn shoes that have to be tied in years because it takes to much effort to bend over and tie the darn things! Isn't that just sad?

well, most of mine are slip ons, my chuckas stay untied most of the time, i just cleverly loosen the strings, and wear them like slip ons, and noone notices. My tennis are being worn today...with perfect purty bows right on top!!

I'll bet you don't have to hold your breath anymore either, do ya? Oh yes, the buldging eyeballs and that gasp for breath when you stand up again. God I miss those things... NOT!

Grats Mini You :)

Ah yes...the joys of trying to get to the toes....I know it well.

That is a GREAT NSV and much congrats to you for noticing and taking the time to pat yourself on the back. Those moments of self congrats are priceless...and a big key in rebuilding tattered self esteem.

Whoot for an NSV!

This is a really interesting one - my physio felt that at my heaviest weight I was contributing to my ankle problem because I could not tie the lace on my right shoe on top of the shoe, it was always off to the side.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
