I have seen alot of stuff on Hair loss and suddenly am very worried about it. I can not take a fish oil capsule or haven't found one I can take yet that doesn't make me burp up fish taste and that makes me want to throw up... HELP any good ones out there that you have tried after having burp up tastes from others?? I have chewables for later that are supposed to be wonderful but am still on mushy food stage so not sure I can take them in yet.

ALSO.... does the hair grow back?

I seem to be getting mixed messages on that

Thank you,

~Chandra/shutterbug

Chandra -

If you're on mushies you can take your chewables - just chew them really well.

From what I have read and have been told, yes, the hair does grow back once the hairloss stops.

I don't take fish oil, I am taking hair Skin & Nails that has Biotin in it, along with Evening Primrose Oil and multi-Vitamins, so can't help you out on the "aftertaste" - but if you have chewables, that issue should be resolved.

The hair grows back. I'm living proof of drastic Hair loss, and it's been growing back for the last month or so. I have lots of little baby hairs popping in on my part and around my crown.

I'm now taking Biotin 5000mcg daily. It won't help slow down the loss, but it will help grow new hair. I also use Folicure Shampoo which is supposed to promote new growth. It doesn't dry out my hair, and I use Nexxus Dualiste anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner as well to help with any damaged hair.

I've lost at 1/3 of my hair. Grant it, I had super thick, coarse hair so it isn't noticeable to anyone but myself and the husband. The hair loss has slowed down, but it's still coming out. It's been happening since mid to late September.

My nutritionist recommended taking additional folic acid and flax seed oil. My multi-Vitamin has 100% daily recommended value of Folic Acid (I take 2 per day, so that's 200%), and I just haven't bought any flax seed oil.

It's only temporary. If I curl my hair, fluff it up a bit, no one can even remotely notice that I've lost hair.

Hey there! Yes, I take some Gummy Omega 3's as well. I have been chewing my multis and gummy omega 3s since a weeks out! They are so similar to the consistency of Jello I just figured it would be OK! Flax oil is a great fish oil alternative. I have lots of vegan friends who use it. It would be good for you too Newmom!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
