DALITEDESIGNS 1 Posted November 28, 2009 Hi all- Ive been a bit silly today and last night. I didnt over eat but i may have had a few more carbs than necessary. Today i had a large biscuit half a baguette and a piece of chicken covered in breadcrumbs. not exactly a lot but my surgery is at 5pm tomorrow with a 6 hour complete fast. My mum is here from england and she thinks i should cancel because i couldnt even stick to the pre-op sucessfully. Any ideas would be welcome at this late stage> xxx Dalite :001_cool:

But tell the surgeon tomorrow - as they will likely have to empty the contents of your stomach before removing the resected portion if they see any remains of food in there. Hopefully that will have moved on through by then though. good luck tomorrow! :001_cool:
deedee 5 Posted November 30, 2009 I didn't really have a strict pre-op diet, but I did do low carb/high Protein for a month and followed it pretty well (although I did have a few "last meals"). It was much easier post surgery to control hunger and cravings versus pre surgery. As for needing to reschedule surgery, you should probably talk with your surgeon...they are all different, mine had me do a 2 day clear liquid diet before surgery. Good luck! Malaika 50 Posted November 30, 2009 Dalite - are you sure you really want to have this surgery? You have mentioned more than once about cancelling it. If you are not 100% sure you want the surgery, then you probably should cancel it as you may experience many issues post-surgery due to your grieving over the fact of not being able to eat. deedee 5 Posted December 2, 2009 How are you doing? Was the doctor able to do the surgery?
DALITEDESIGNS 1 Posted December 2, 2009 Thanks all I do have a few "issues" about the operation but hopefully i can work through them. The healing process has begun so hopefully ill be fit and well in no time. Just a few head questions to work out. XXx Dalite
deedee 5 Posted December 2, 2009 I'm so happy that you are on your way to recovery and preparing to work through your head issues. I began seeing a therapist when I started this process and it really helped. Due to scheduling issues I haven't been in a while and really need to start back because my emotions are all over the place this time of year.
Deb 0 Posted December 3, 2009 I should get a surg date tomorrow or Monday. I started my pre=op diet Tues and it is really doing a number on me today. I sure hope it gets easier. I know I am a little afraid of the surgery. Sometimes I still wonder if I am doing the right thing. Obviously we all love to eat or we would not be where we are today, right? Surely you that have already had the surgery had some apprehension too. I wonder how it will be. I mean should I NEVER eat anything really goos again?
