Welcome to VST!

Has the pain increased or gotten worse since speaking with your doctor? Take a look at this link: http://verticalsleevetalk.com/post-operation-vertical-sleeve-gastric-surgery-vsg-questions-answers/936-signs-leakage.html

As to the rest of your questions, I'd stress to follow your surgeon's directions. Your stomach is swollen and healing and I believe (can't really remember) I was told it takes up to 6 months to heal completely. If you are following the post-op diet, which I'm sure you are, you have to lose weight. Your calorie deficit is plenty low enough to take off pounds. I was told to wait 2 weeks before weighing myself, but could only hold off for 9 days. When I was still on liquids, I really couldn't wait to have food again.

I think what you are going through sounds pretty normal, but we are all different, so if you are concerned check in with your doctor.

Good luck and keep us posted. The people on this board are very supportive and helpful.

Angel-A - welcome to the VST family. I do not know about the pain in your stomach and would keep an eye on that and in touch with your doctor.

As to not losing weight, everyone has that fear - be sure to take your measurements regularly and you will see that you are losing - even if the scale isn't moving the inches seem to melt right off. Keep us posted on how you're feeling.

I agree with what's already been said and I would just keep an eye on it and not panic. You are bound to have occasional pain considering you have just had an operation and as it was revision surgery there will be more scar tissue etc. I still get pain every now and then but nothing that I am overly concerned about considering what my stomach has been put through. I did get sharp pains soon after surgery, especially after eating or drinking and it was just my stomach being sensitive, which it would be after having had a band slipped the third of the way down it, daily reflux and vomiting and then most of it cut out and the remaining bit stapled up!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
