Stitchy 0 Posted May 24, 2006 Yesterday afternoon, I was off liquids. Well, they said 2 weeks of liquids, and my surgery was in the morning, right? food for dinner, Yeah!!! :clap2: I had canned shredded chicken with canned peas in mayo. It was delish! Unfortunately, I ate waaaaay more than I should, even though I used a baby spoon. Many many baby spoons. Well, just because I could, doesn't mean I should. I was really really full. My stomach hurt! I had such a hard time going to sleep. I think maybe it was the legendary "golf ball." I felt fat. Really fat. I knew I was going to gain 5 lbs overnight. However, I was down one lb this morning. I felt better immediately. This morning, I slowed it down with Cream of Wheat. That's sitting in my tummy just fine and I don't hurt and I am full. Whew! What a relief! Tonight, I don't know what I am having for dinner, but I am going to measure and weigh whatever it is. I don't want a repeat of last night!

PhotoNut 7 Posted May 24, 2006 Experience is a great teacher, isn't it? Welcome back to the world of FOOD! Take it slowly and test the waters before diving in. If you like fish, Gortons makes some awesome frozen fillets that are very moist and easy to eat. They are grilled with no breading. Not sure if I've mentioned them to you or not, but since I love them so much I'll mention them again! *chuckles* By the way, I LOVE your attitude!
Stitchy 0 Posted May 24, 2006 WOWEE thats pretty fast to be put on regular food. Good luck and yes, please be careful. Well, I didn't pick the chicken off the regular food list. It was on my Dr. list of soft foods. Finely shredded and very moist. And I chewed very well. Nothing was really wrong, I don't think, except I ate waaaaaaay too much.
