Need help urgently.....I am taking my Nexium faithfully...but the last two days have been feeling like I want to throw up. Today after my Protein shake....the nausea was back and I actually dry heaved...OMG....I am so freaked out......what do I do? Can I take something else for the nausea? Any suggestions would be helpful....

Try to get a prescription from your doctor for phenegran. It's way cheaper than Zofran and works well.

You body may not like the whey or soy Protein in the Protein shakes. My stomach cramps with almost all the Protein mixes/drinks regardless if I mix them with milk or Water.

Phenegran is a great anti-emetic drug, but it can cause drowsiness. I was on Zofran, and while it is expensive, it saved me from being so sick all the time. My insurance covered the Zofran so I didn't care about the cost.

I'm not sure what food stage you are on, but try to isolate what is making you nauseous. Like tomorrow, try to only drink a certain liquid, or eat one type of food. Food/ingredient intolerances are very common. I dealt with them for a couple of months, and I had a hard time trying to figure out what was triggering my nausea. Luckily, I just stuck to one flavor of Crystal light, or one flavor of Jello some days to make sure my body could tolerate them. If the next day, I tried something new, and I felt sick, I quit eatinging/drinking it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
