DH = Dear Husband

I am not sure with the sleeve, but I had sex with my husband about 10 days post-op my band surgery. John, my husband, was deployed during my revision to the sleeve June 3rd, and he didn't get home until September 30th.

From what I've heard from others, they were able to be intimate once they were pain free, and comfortable. Of course, you can't be a contortionist immediately post op, but take it easy and be gentle.

I asked my Dr. at my 2 week post-op and he said "whenever you feel ready". I think on my discharge paperwork it said not to for 8 weeks so hubby was glad to hear that!

As far as DH? I'm still not sure?!?!?! I think it's Darling? Husband? I dunno!

TMI alert, I warn you, it seems much harder to "get there" for a good month or so after the surgery. At least that was my experience. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem?

I thought DH = darling husband; guess it doesn't matter, darling, dear, as long as it's nice ....

When I asked Dr. Aceves about having sex (while I was in the hospital) - he said "Not here, please" (and then turned very red) ... lol ... he said as long as it didn't hurt, it was okay anytime I felt like it. I will tell you this (if not wanting TMI - stop reading) -- now that I have lost about 52 lbs and Bearded has lost 49 or so, it sure feels different - and is even better than it was before!

Since I have lost my weight I have to agree, it is much better! I can't wait to loose more!

When I see "DH", I normally think Dear Husband. But, depending on the day & what he's done, it can also refer to Dumb Husband :001_tt2: :) :001_tt2: :biggrin0: :001_tt2:.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
