Daisy, I'm sorry that you have been having troubles. I hope you feel better soon.

I have the flu again and strep also. I know what you mean about your hair falling out. I concider myself lucky to keep down a couple of crackers a day. I feel so ill and weak.

Well enough about me. I'm glad that you are on your way to feeling better.

Sorry to hear you are sick Judy. Being nauseous is a horrible feeling. I hope you get over whatever bug you caught!

Thanks Newmom. I am home from the hospital and feeling sore, but nothing like the pain I had when I entered the ER.

Daisy - glad you are home - you will feel better quicker being home and in your own bed, etc. I wish you a speedy recovery.

KyHen - sorry to hear you're so sick - take care of yourself and try and get in some fluids so you don't become dehydrated. LoCal Gatorade or something to help increase your electrolytes is important. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

If she did, it might not show up for a few days. I know every time I have ever been on IV fluids for a few days I always show a gain for the first couple of days I come off of them, and then I suddenly have a drastic loss.

I hope to show a loss in a few days. I sure don't feel like eating.

This is more painful than I expected and way more painful than sleeve surgery. I had to sneeze a litle bit ago, and it hurt like hell in my side, I guess where the gall bladder used to be.

Daisy! Sorry about this! i hope you feel better soon. Surgery is always one of those things that just gets worse before it gets better and hopefully rreeeeaaaally better. Sounds like recovery wont be fun but as long as you can get through day to day you will be happier overall. Thinking of you and sending lots of good energy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
