Good for you! I'm glad you made the right decision, after all it's for YOU not your family members, except for your cute baby who is going to need a slim mommy to chase him all over the place in a bit. . . hehehe. . . glad to hear your feeling well and are up and about. . . hope to hear more of your experiences and weight loss soon! Good luck

If you have any supply issues, there is a wonder product (liquid) called More Milk Plus. You can buy it at Luckyvitamin.com

I am a midwife - I had a client who had insufficient milk supply with her baby. After that baby she had a mastectomy - so only one breast. When she got pregnant again, she didn't know if she should even try to breastfeed. With More Milk Plus she had enough milk for her baby.

I am glad things went well for you. I get my band out next week and then my sleeve in December. I have some issues that need to resolve between the 2 surgeries. I am having my surgery in Dallas. Who is your surgeon?

This is a good recommendation. Also, Fenugreek pills work really well for a lot of women.

I'm not a midwife, but I'm an amateur breastfeeding expert. :( I'm the one who gives all my friends advice and I like to think I've helped a few. If you start having supply problems, ask me. I had horrible supply problems too. You can also post on the La Leche League forums, lots of LLL leaders there.

Good luck to you!

I'm just over a week post op and am overall feeling better. I'm down 19 lbs...maybe a little too fast as I'm concerned I'm not getting enough fluids or calories down. I had my post op appt yesterday and they took out the staples. Everything looked good. I am having some problems with sweating after I eat and just feeling yucky, but it goes away after about 40 minutes. I'm pretty tired of the Protein Shakes, but the Soups are ok and have 15 grams of Protein. I'm still able to breastfeed, but am supplementing a bottle of frozen breastmilk to make sure my baby is getting enough to eat. He's a big boy at over 18lbs at 4 months! So far so good, I'm glad I got this done now and am on my way to being healthy for my son.

Glad you're through it and doing so well. I still get shaky and feel quite unwell with sweating and palpitations sometimes and attribute it to either eating too much or too quickly. Just take it easy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
