geobaby 0 Posted November 4, 2009 I have just started looking for a loan to cover my surgery! The surgery is going to cost $13,550 I have called surgeryloan.com and they wanted a ridiculous interest rate. I have good credit but because I?m only 20 I haven?t got my credit built up yet but my Dads going to co sign and he has excellent credit but the surgerylaon.com told me that I can get two loans out to equal the full amount one at 16% and the other 23%!!!!! Ok hellz no I wound never be able to pay that off I?m getting the surgery to better my life not to drown in debt! So my question is what loan place did you use? Do you have any advice? What interest rate did you get? Anything you can tell me will help! Thanks Amanda :crying:
Tiffykins 673 Posted November 4, 2009 My insurance paid so I have zero personal experience, but I know some people go through Care Credit for medical necessary loans.

alegna242 1 Posted November 19, 2009 Hey I know this is way late post. I am a self-pay patient and I got a loan through Wells Fargo, I tried Surgery loans, medfinance, etc. all those other ones that you see and they all wanted 16-23 % interest. Wells Fargo wanted 13%, I also was approved for a loan with Care Credit but the Dr. I went with did not take Care Credit. Care Credit wanted 13% interest so I thought I might as well go through Wells Fargo and go with the Dr. that I wanted. My loan was $10,500 (Dr. Alanis cash fee was $11,500) I saved 1,000 on my own. My loan is 5 yrs, 13% interest, payments are $244.00 a month. I have lost almost 50 pounds since I have started looking into surgery and I am about 20 pounds from my 1st goal of 150lbs. My surgery was 3 1/2 months ago and although I miss the extra $244 in my bank account, I am so glad that I went through with the surgery! Good luck! :thumbup1:
Ky.hen 5 Posted November 20, 2009 I got a personal loan at my bank. I put the loan against my car. Interest rate is 11%. My loan is for three years unless I can pay it off sooner.
stoongal 10 Posted November 20, 2009 Is there any way your bank can extend you or your dad a line of credit? I did that as I too have an excellent credit rating and got my loan for 4.25% interest. My sister got one on her mortgage and got it for 2.5% interest. Worth talking to the banks loan officer about it, you never know. Cheers, Donna
NursyGirl 1 Posted April 22, 2010 I can't help you Chickie, but I'm in the same boat. Worse, actually as my family does not approve of my choice and so I cannot get a cosigner. I don't know what to do if I can't get a loan for the last $5000 I haven't been able to save!
