Hi-

I'm Chancie and I AM NOT

an Exercise-Aholic!!!

I hate to exercise! But I am so proud of you all!!

I wish I had something close to me, but everything is far away. My son bought me a home Gym for Mothers day, and I haven't even used it like I should.

I do however, like to do my knee exercises, and stretching exercises, and I have been pretty good at doing them almost everyday.

I like to work with weights, so thats what I've been doing lately along with stretching. I'm thinking about looking for some yoga tapes, anyone here do yoga?? Just curious....

Boy, you guys are great. I started this thread, and I'm STILL sitting on the couch. I'm hopeless. I definitely need an excersise buddy for motivation. Someone to pry my sorry butt off the couch. Anyone out there live in north central phoenix??? Oy vey!

I don't live there, but we could be accountability buddies. We could text or call each other to motivate one another if you wanna give it a shot. I'm planning on starting tomorrow morning even if I just go walk on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes, I'm going.

I am horrible with time zone differences, but I plan on going around 7:30am Central time. I want to go at least 3-4 days a week.

We can exchange contact information if you would like, and go from there ! ! !

WOW YOU GUYS! Does it not get better! I thought for sure if I loose the weight, the exercise gets easier! UGH!!!

Oh, no, the exercise gets easier - lots easier - it's just that the motivation still isn't always there ... me, I love working out after work - but forget the mornings - I always think I'll get up and work out, but then morning time comes and all good thoughts go out the door ...

Well, it does and it doesnt. In the beginning, running 3kms was really hard for me, now it'd be a piece of cake. But now, I dont run 3kms, I run 10, so I work just as hard!

But I swear half of getting fit is just getting used to the bodily sensations of oxygen debt, when you're not an exerciser, that feeling panics you, when you are used to it, it still feels the same but you welcome it.

At the moment, I'm doing a boot camp twice per week. for FUN!!! Its a weight loss competition, I know I wont lose weight and I know I wont get much fitter becuase I've got no real weight to lose and I'm already very fit. But I have to do something most days so why not do this boot camp for a new experience and to exercise with others? In that way you get to welcome activity opportunities, enjoy challenging yourself and you become unfraid of some serious pain, hehehe. Lungewalking round two basketball courts, followed by sprinting it immediately after - well, that really hurts!

But I'm not a morning exerciser either, I only do it when its unavoidable.

I am lucky that I only have to work part time. If I had to go after work, I would be in trouble. It's just such a habit for me to get up in the morning and put on my gym clothes. I have been doing it for 5 years so I feel horribly guilty when I don't go.

YOU RUN 10 kms! Wow that is excellant! And boot camp for fun???? Now that is nutty! I was in the military and let me tell you I won't ever do boot camp for fun! You make me laugh at your statement "Lungewalking round two basketball courts, followed by sprinting it immediately after - well, that really hurts!". . . I'm seriously allergic to pain! But keep up the great work! Definately is paying off for you sweetie! :crying:

If you're going to use your elliptical, i'd highly recommend cardio coach - www.cardiocoach.com for an interval style program that you can play on your MP3. OK, so you will have to build up to it, but there's spots all the way through to cut off your workout if that's all you can do.

Seriously, it makes the time fly.

What you have to do is start out much more lightly/slowly than what you're doing so that you can keep going for a more reasonable period of time. I'm a runner, but to learn to run I had to slow my running to what seemed like ridiculous speeds - I could walk faster! But it built the endurance and the right muscles and got me to where I needed to be. Cardio coach will get you in touch with the sensations of exercising, let you know when to go hard, when to rest etc, its a really great program that will get results, and you can start out with an easy one and purchase harder ones later one. Its pretty cheap, about $15 for an instant download.

I downloaded CardioCoach this morning and used it for my workout this afternoon. It ROCKED!! I usually grind thru 25-30 minutes on my eliptical and get bored looking for an excuse to quit early. Today, with CardioCoach I went for 45 minutes and still wasn't mentally ready to quit (physically however, I was done, what a great cardio workout). I am actually looking forward to working out again tomorrow.

Thanks Jachut for the recommendation. :crying:

I'm so glad you liked it! I have all the volumes now, you'll find some suit your mood certain days.

And other days I just feel like taking it easy and having a nice slow jog listening to music. Its good to have the variety.

When did "you" get back to exercising?

My husband and I take salsa lessons and have for a long time now so it is not something "new" for us. The class can be intense but only for brief moments (spinning a couple of times during the routine) and for the most part it is not really intense. First hour is usually the learning period of the moves, the second hour is the time that has the "periodic" intensity as previously described.

I felt really good today and wanted to join in but abstained with the thought that what if someone bumped into me and hurt my abs or stomach. I think that one or two more weeks and I may be feeling pretty darn good to rejoin.

Thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

I was released to start exercising at 4 weeks - no abs until 6 weeks.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
