Question for self pay with insurance

Recommended Posts

I have found out that my pre op test are being paid through my teachers state insurance. But I am curious about the psych weight evaluation? Has anyone had this covered on their insurance that was self pay? Tomorrow is my pre op test so I hope all goes well and then Wednesday is my Psych test??? Wish me luck:001_rolleyes:

I had all my Pre op testing done at the hospital. Everyone asked "are you having the band or bypass". I was so happy to say "the sleeve". Many had never heard and even inquired how it worked. The dr. doing the UGI was very excited for me. But not as excited as I am becoming..LOL

24 days until the sleeve!:001_huh:

Congratulations Mona, you are on your way! I was self pay and my insurance did not cover the pre-op testing, but did cover the psych evaluation...I just had to pay my copay for that visit. I think all of them are so different. Good luck with the rest of your appointments, they're going to fly by!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
