Chancie 65 Posted October 18, 2009 I'm not new. am 7 months out, but maybe you ate too fast?? I didn't/still haven't had watermelon, but i do rember eating yogurt.. took me awhile, and only ate about 1/2, but it was almost like a treat to me. I'd have to look thru my journals, but I don't believe I ate anything real early out.
snates 0 Posted October 18, 2009 Frustrating...GRR..when did you start eating soft fruit?
LAN2k 18 Posted October 18, 2009 (edited) I ate pureed baby food fruit ready made in the jars around 2 weeks out. I'm 33 days out.Although I've progressed to some foods, it's only about 2oz. if even, that I can get down. Yesterday I tried a scrambled egg with a bit of muenster cheese melted on top. Although the cheese was Alpine Lace low fat, I couldn't eat it. After the 2nd tiny bite and chew, I realized it was not being received favorably. I ate bits at a time of the egg and halfway through, (strange pains), I had to get my body moving so I left the other half and walked around my apartment for about 20 minutes. I returned to finish the rest of the egg (to get the Protein in of a whole egg), (by then cold); pulled off that cheese and finished the egg s l o w l y. I had to get my body moving again but was OK a few minutes later. Maybe melted chewy cheeses are hard to tolerate for a while. I really have to take time and I find it hard to adjust with such tiny amounts of food at any given time. I'm here now though and there is no turning back so I have to take it as it goes and hope that in time I'll be able to enjoy a little more variety, without fear. snates 0 Posted October 18, 2009 Thanks for telling me your experience, i guess im not alone and may be trying to eat too quick. Im sure we will both be able to enjoy a bit more in time...It seems after 3-6 months out smaller portions of anything goes. Well at least i hope! :welcome:
Bookgirl 0 Posted October 18, 2009 I am 20 days out and have had a rough time with milk/cheese. From other posters, I see that lactose-intolerance is quite common after this surgery and after 3-6 months, I might get them back again. So, try to stay away from milk, ice cream, cream cheese and soft unripened cheeses (and products containing them). You should be able to tolerate yogurt, aged cheese and natural sour cream as it has been processed and shouldn't contain lactose. Good luck, I am trying my first yogurt tonight - I hope that my gut doesn't blow up like a balloon! :welcome:
