I had my surgery on September 3, 2009. My surgery was done by Dr. Alfons Pomp at NYP hospital. In one month I have lost 49 Pounds. I have gone down 6" around my waist. I have gone from a tight 4X shirt to a loose 3X. I am walking daily and hoping to be able to expand my workouts after I see the Dr. on Monday. I have been lucky enough to be out of work for the whole month as I really have used this time to heal and focus on myself. I have started talk therapy to try to circumvent the head hunger.

Getting sleeved was the best decision I have made for myself. While I know I have a long way to go I really feel like I have the tools that I need to be successful. Thanks to everyone here as this forum helped me decide on this surgery. The fourm has also been helpful with my after surgery questions.

No stall yet! The best part about is that I have not been hungery. I have been eating between 500 and 700 calories a day. I know the stall will come but for now I am feeling pretty good!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
