hospital gown size?

Recommended Posts

I just thought of this while packing.. will the hospital gowns fit me? I'm probably a lot bigger than the typical sleever, I weigh about 300lbs and I'm short. I wear a Canadian 5X usually. I have 2 nightgowns packed in case. Is the hospital cold? I know it's going to be near fatally hot outside. *g*

Didn't lose any weight on the preop diet either:cursing::thumbup: Had one bad day but the rest of the time I kept it well under 30 carbs. I even went total carbs not net!

I am sure they will have a hospital gown to fit you -- may be long on you - but I am sure it will fit. Yes, the hospital can be cold - however, it also can be hot ... take a warm robe and you can ask for extra blankets. If it gets hot - don't hesitate to ask for a fan - they will bring you one.

They gave me two gowns, one frontwards and one backwards, to cover the vital areas nicely. that worked fine. The day after surgery I changed in to my own PJ's. More comfortable like that. Makes you feel less "sick" and more like you are just "on the mend".

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
