Simple meal I love, now that I am at 2 mos and can eat regular food:

One 3 oz talapia fillet

2 tbls corn, I cut right from a fresh cob, I keep on my counter, cause I use it every day.

1 tbl onion or other favorite veggie.

Saute & brown w/cooking spray, salt & pepper, then cover and turn off heat, in a few minutes it is cooked to perfection.

Yumm..

It's around 100 calories and 20 gms of Protein.< /span>

Sounds great. I LOVE Tilapia, when I am able to eat regular food, I will try it. Thanks for sharing.

It's better with cheese melted on it and then a big ol' squirt of BBQ Sauce on top of that on a bed of french fries. LOL.

Just kidding, that does sound really good and 3 oz Tilapia filets are easy to find at the grocery store for cheap usually.

I wish I could eat corn, but alas it just doesn't work for me right now. I recently bought some Mahi Mahi steaks that are frozen and in individual freezer bags.

If the rain would ever let up here, I'd get the grill out. I gave my George Foreman grill to my bestie in Texas because I never used it. Now, I'm regretting that decision, big time !

You can find the fillets at Target in the frozen section. Each fillet is indiv wrapped. I don't like cheese on my fish, though.

Another recipe I love is 1 oz lean beef, chopped onion, broccoli, salsa, sauted, and then topped off w/2% cheese slice, stired in.

If you are only using 1 oz lean beef, 1 slice LF cheese, and I think it's around 10 gms Protein and about 100 calories.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
