Hi everyone!

My name is Tania and I just had my sleeve done on Tuesday. I am fairly active on the OH website and just found a link to this forum.

I decided to have WLS after spending many of my adult years battling my weight. I have always fought my weight, but with the sleeve I think I can finally be successful.

I am a very busy mom to 5 great kids. Aric (15), Chris, (10), Marissa (4~the only girl), Aiden (3) and little Ian (1). My husband is in the army and is stationed at Fort Lewis, WA.

I have a lot of interests. I love to write stories and poems, have had one of my poems published, which makes me proud. I also like to shop, hang out with my hubby and kids, see movies, visit new places, visit historical places (big history buff!) and enjoy life! I have a few ideas for opening my own business, but I am so busy with the kids, it's hard to get any free time. Soon enough they will all be in school and then I can devote more time to pursuing my dreams. I have always wanted to be a mother, so I am already living life to the fullest!!

Hi Tania, and welcome to VST. Congrats on your surgery, and I look forward to following your progress.

My husband is Air Force, and we're stationed at Hurlburt Field, FL. I write poetry as well, and have 1 son, Caysen, who is 11 years old.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
