Wonderful Bob! I absolutely love this thread. My shouts outs so far:

* tossed all my size 2x - believe me, not even the Goodwill would want them.

* fit into Liz Claiborn 16WP jeans - tossed my 22WP - see above.

* able to go 1 hour vigorously on the treadmill and love doing it.

* rewarded myself w/a Sansun slot radio to keep me going while exercising.

* have more energy than I have had in years.

* vow never to wear black again unless it is lingerie.

* stopped caffeine, diet soda, sugar, flour, but haven't we all!

Non scale Victory

My favorite one to date has got to be fitting in the booth at our favorite Mexican restaurant without having to move the table closer to my son. Plus, having lots of room between my belly and the table.

The others:

Seeing all the bones in my feet and ankles

Having just 1 chin

My son wrapping his arms around me and getting excited that he can clasp his hands for a "real hug".

All of my rings and bracelets being too big

Buying regular sized clothes from Old Navy

Having my dermatologist not even recognize me until she read my chart, that was an amazing feeling.

Loving this thread! My favorite thus far is the one I posted about last week. I can no longer buy my clothes from the woman's department at Kohl's. I now can shop in the regular sizes.

I think it's the U-touch that makes husbands jealous. :biggrin0:

Some recent NSVs:

-Some pants I bought two months ago are too big for me now even though I haven't gone down that much on the scale

-The other day I saw a picture of myself and instead of noticing all the imperfections, I thought I looked hot (and tiny)

-Shot up a hill today that would have been a challenge 6 months ago

-My resting heart rate is the same as for a lifetime athlete

Way to go Ruthi! I remember how excited

I was when I fit into my first size 12s.

My biggest NSV ever was when I was talking with my trainer awhile back about

putting a profile up on a dating site. I asked him which box to check, average

or "a few exra lbs." I wanted a man's opinion. He said You're definitely average.

That same day, a man at the gym asked

me how I keep my legs so toned. I was

literally shocked. I just pointed to the machines I use.

Ha! I had the classic just now. I was walking through my living room with my daughter in arms, and could feel my jeans inching down on one side!!!! and then.... wooshka! down around my ankles they went!! *hysterically laughing* and there it is...my first real embarassing NSV (lucky I bought some very neat smalls in a smaller size last week!!!!)

Congrats to EVERYONE!!!

I too LOVE this thread!!

Dange- Thats too funny 'bout the pants!! Good thing you were at home!!

1) I think one of my favorite NSV is being able to paint my toenails!! I could hardly bend over before to even clip them!

2) I can also put my cars seat all the way front- and still have room between the steering wheel and my belly!!! And I can even put down the arm rest now!

3) When going to a restaurant, not worried if I can fit into a booth!

4) Being able to wear summer dresses and feel like a lady!

There is so much more... but thats what comes to mind right now.

Chancie, I love your NSV #4 wearing a summer dress and feeling like a lady. I haven't been able to do that in sooo long. I am hoping for that next summer. How wonderful for you, it's inspiring me. I love that feeling too, and sure do miss wearing summer dresses.

Maybe we should all write these victories down on paper and post above the scale, so when we have a stall, we can look at all our victories, and keep on going.

God bless you guys, you're great!

I have had one so far. I am not wearing womens size clothes anymore. They are too uhhh wide. I am back to regular sizes, no more "W" after the size.

I have an iTouch. I love it. Best thing I ever bought. I highly recomend getting the wi sniffer. It is how I find all the open hotspots.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
