o00 494 Posted April 18, 2018 At my last physical, my PCP was full of compliments about my weightloss. He also reminded me how great it was that I was maintaining two years and 5 months out because majority of folks start gaining after two years out. And all the labs came out good. This is the same Dr. who harped about how I needed to lose weight if I wanted to live a bit longer. It was a really proud moment for me. 2 ProudGrammy and youknowit reacted to this
Heather E 68 Posted January 22, 2019 6 months post sleeve and some awesome NSVs ~ Started at a size 28/4X, just the other day I bought a pair of 18 pants on clearance ($5) and just for fun I tried them on.....and they FIT!!!!! ~I noticed that there is space between my toes...... ~ I can sit in a booth at restaurants ~ I can keep up with my preschool class, 12 boys, and 4 girls......busy, busy, busy ~ I can walk without getting winded or my back hurting. ~ I realized that this year I will be able to shop for a bathing suit at a regular store, and not have to buy one at Lane Bryant or online!! ~ My wedding rings that I hadn't worn for 4 years, I put on in August (1 month out) now they are in danger of falling off, so I will have to find a safe place ~ I promised that when I lost 100 lbs, I would get a cat! Her name is Peaches and I got her at a rescue a couple weeks ago. 2 1 Elsy, mblue13 and ProudGrammy reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted January 22, 2019 Well congratulations to Peaches for selecting you, congratulations on your weight loss, you know, Bariatric Pal is one of the few places you can say " You are less the woman that you used to be" and it will be regarded as a compliment, not a put-down. What a wonderful 6 months YOU have had, and keep moving on toward your goals, and keep updating us as each NSV occurs.

nenes78 528 Posted May 14, 2019 Was at the GAP on Saturday and they had a Spider-Man T-shirt I liked. They only had S and M. I just went from a XL to and L recently and was a bit bummed no L in stock. My wife said try on the M, I did and it fit. From a 3X to a Medium in less than 1 1/2 years, what a trip it has been. 4 1 froufrou, rs, AngieBear and 2 others reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted May 15, 2019 So many already in just 5 months: (1) being able to buy a Medium or Large instead of a 2X (2) not having to wear an extender chain on my necklaces (3) my wedding rings are looser and going to have to be resized at some point (4) I can sit with my legs crossed up underneath me (5) the towel fits around me after I take a shower (6) I'm getting a few "looks" from men at the grocery store and gym 1 rs reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted May 15, 2019 Wowser, some of those I have acheived, some not yet, but a mini-NSV for me, noticing how the clothing suggestions grow so much at 18 or 20, it's like a Brand-new World to quote a Disney Song. Am really enjoying putting Pukey Green, Liver and Baby Poop Yellow prints behind me, and running towards both pastels and vibrant yet feminine shades. No more Good Enough for this Golden 🐤 chick! 2 rs and GradyCat reacted to this
Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted November 2, 2019 Resurrecting this NSV thread. I’m grateful for moments when my inner obese woman kicks a fit person’s butt. Yesterday, I ran the same track with 22 army recruits. Drill sergeants yelling out times as they passed. (2 mile run requirement) The recruits went on to complete the rest of their testing (push up’s sit ups etc.). I continued to run. Half our later, sergeant’s and recruits came back to run the track after testing. This former obese woman outran them. 2 1 rs, Bari_KS and Ready 4slim reacted to this
