I teared up Christina... I teared up reading this!

So proud of you!

I'm at my lowest size in my closet too. If I (oh and I will!) Lose anymore weight I will have to go for a full on full clothes shopping spree for a an entirely new wardrobe.

Not sure if my husband can fully grasp that idea yet. .. but it gonna happen!

Lol

Thank you so much! wish we could go shopping together! one month later and I am now having to remove a lot of the skinny clothes and buy some new ones. TJ maxx tomorrow and Good will on Sunday (99c day) because things are too baggy for me to stand it. I *have* to tuck my shirts in to keep my pants up. I would not have believed you three months ago had you told me.

Ok so if we are planning this... where do you live? I can cross the US border near Vancouver BC But if your like in Texas or Australia.. that might be a little more difficult. Lol

I live in Tennessee - but I will be in Northern Michigan in July - closer to Canada. although it might be hard to drag me off the beach then. I have only been across into Canada in Windsor and Sault St. Marie and then across country to Maine. Canada is a gorgeous country.

I have always wanted to visit Vancouver. I understand it is also an incredibly beautiful city.

No more bath sheets! Regular bath towels keeps it all covered just fine. It's good to know the inches are coming off even though I'm stalling.

At my highest weight, I was a size 32 (and even at that size some things were too tight.) I don't think I look much different yet, but I've been noticing that my clothes have been getting looser. I've still been wearing size 32, though, because every time I took out a smaller size from my closet it just seemed way too small for me to fit into, so I never even tried to see if it fit. Well today I'm down 65 pounds from my highest weight, and I finally decided to go through my closet and see what fits. It turns out that I can now fit comfortably into size 24 pants and size 26 shirts!!!! I just kept laughing to myself in disbelief as I tried them on. I now have a huge pile of clothes to donate to Goodwill!

When I was morbidly obese I had some terrible falls. A tiny bump in the footpath would catch my toe and I would come crashing down on my hands and knees.

This morning while walking and emailing (yes, stupid) I tripped on a speed hump on the road. My body tipped really far forward and I waited for the pain.

Instead, my body totally corrected itself. I wish I could describe the feeling better. It was like my body had total control. My brain said stay upright and my body complied. It was exhilarating.

Worked some overtime this weekend to cover a buddy's team for him.

I've known the folks on his team and the many other folks outside of his department for years but don't see them all very often.

I was flooded with many questions. The main one being, "How have you been losing the weight ?".

I gave the exact same answer every time. "Thanks. I had wls last October and have been following my surgeon's instructions since."

One guy really kept after it.....grilling me. Follow up question after question. I answered each to the best of my ability and spoke simply from my experience. He finally disclosed the fact that he and his wife are very concerned for their daughter and are in the beginning stages of seeking bariatric solutions for her.

The next day he found me and approached grinning from ear to ear and extending his hand. He said he talked to his wife and they are proceeding......and with the same bariatric center I used. He seemed very relieved. It made my weekend.

Relief is out there. Folks can find it.

On vacation with friends..

I can shop for clothes in the same store as everyone else! The biggest sizes in normal stores are too big for me now...

No one has to make any special accommodations for me, I can do everything everyone else does.

I am able to eat anywhere and make good choices (this is a huge step for me).

I'm comfortable everywhere, I don't have to worry about patio seats being too small or breaking lawn chairs.

@@Dub this is so rewarding! sometimes all people need is to see one person who was brave enough to do this and change their life and then they feel they can be brave enough too. and in this case, you may have given these people the answers they need to support their daughter. a lifeline.

I have a dear friend who is now considering the process. she will see her doctor in August. I have been answering any questions she has when we see each other. I hope she will move forward, time will tell. all I can do is continue to be real with her.

Oooooh, get a padlock on your plastic!!! You are on the slippery slope now to a shopping addiction. I started with designer jeans and well..................I'm well into my stride now and it's not just jeans. Enjoy!!!! It is so nice to buy what you like instead of what just covers you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
