OK, So this is too funny not to share. I went to the theater and saw an old client that I hadn't seen in a couple of years. This was the exchange:

ME: Hi Cosette. it's Zoe.

COSETTE: (Blank Stare back at me)

ME: Zoe, Zoe Walsh....

COSETTE: (Blank Stare back at me)

ME: (very slowly) Zoe Walsh from the vacation rental company...

COSETTE: (Continuing to Stare back at me while cocking her head to the side)

ME: (wondering if she's OK) you remember, we worked with your two beautiful properties....

COSETTE: (looking at me suspiciously) You're not Zoe....I know Zoe, you don't look anything like her.

ME: (laughing) Well, I have lost a little weight.....then I managed to convince her it really was me!

That was a first, actually I'm not sure it was a compliment (when things like that happen it's a reminder of how bad off I was before!) but it was pretty funny when it happened, she really didn't recognize me at all!

That's awesome. I know exactly what you mean though. I've had some similar experiences. In fact I'm going to be seeing my little brother who just finished law school and taking the bar exam last week next weekend for the first time in 2 years. None of my family know that I had surgery much less lost this much weight. I live 8 hrs from family and we aren't really all that close. Anyhow, I'm meeting my little brother at some event he attends every year to Celebrate finishing law school. I know he won't recognize me. It's going to be hilarious and then it will be interesting to wait for the emails/ phone calls from the other family members as "word spreads"....

I went with the family to Sea World, Orlando. I took my granddaughter to the Manta, the huge and terrifying coaster. They have a seat outside to test whether you are too hulking to get on the ride. Grampa jumps in, pulls the restrainer down,... click...with room to spare! Last year at this time I wouldn't have even tested it.

So we waited the 45 minutes in line, got on the ride, and away we went. Coming down the first hill and twist nearly brought up the miniscule contents of the Bouncer,(my sleeve). But I relaxed and talked back to the intimidating boneshaker: "Is that all you got?" "Give me some more!" to impress my granddaughter. To top it off, I tried to talk her into getting right back on, a perk for our platinum annual pass. She was quite content with what she had already experienced. Macho, skinny grampa rides again!

WOW is all I can say. Everyone of you has done exceptional. If anyone has any doubts, these posts will change there minds. Thank you so much for sharing all your NSV's. Susan you are just beautiful, what a transformation.

I just spent the weekend with all my grandchildren and family at Jellystone Yogi Park in Waller Texas. I kept up with them all weekend, something I would not have been able to do 60 lbs. ago. Even doned a bathing suite (with cover up all weekend) and got in the pool with them. Can't wait until next year.

Their ages are 2,2,7,8,9!!

I had a similar experience at a college football game this past weekend. Saw a guy in the stands I used to tailgate with, so I went and spoke to him. He had no idea who I was. Last time I saw him a couple years back I was 200+ lbs heavier. He was shocked. I felt good

Hi everyone! Today is my 8th month surgiversary and I am down 50+ lbs!!! I know that's not a lot to some, but for me, "slow and steady" is the race I'm on. I'm 66 yrs. old and not much of an exerciser, so I'm happy w my slow pace.

So here's what I"m happy about:

1. I wear a size 12 (from a tight 18)

2. I look great in a bathing suit.....for an old broad.

3. I've cleaned out my closet and love my new organization. I've taken bags and bags to charity. I want to NOT buy so many articles of clothing from now on. I want to be selective and get some wonderful thing I love, wear the heck out of them, then donate and replace. I've realized that I have my favorite items and those few items is what I wear all the time. (that has nothing to do w weight loss.....just a point of view.)

4. I love the compliments I get.

5. Only my inside circle know about my surgery, so when someone sees me and remarks about my weight loss, I just say that I've been working on it for the last year. "It's been coming off slow, but I like it that way". I love my little secret!

6. I love the support of this board! I can't imagine going through this w/o the information I've gotten from this wonderful community!

7. I almost forgot......the love my new energy and love of life!!!!

What I don't like:

1. My hair is dull and I've lost lots of it.

2. I need a neck lift! I hope that will be my next treat to myself at my one-year.

3. I need a Tummy Tuck. Maybe the following year!!!

Down just 45 since June 20th, but I am 5 foot so it looks like a lot.

I had to return a bunch of clothes I bought two weeks ago for smaller sizes.

A pair of pants I wore in the spring fall to my ankles...

I lost 12 lbs on my pre-op diet and have lost 4 more lbs since surgery last Wednesday. Today I went to the brand new Trader Joes in Houston and was able to walk all around the store and look around and my knees didn't hurt. Before, when I went to any store I would have to take the riding cart around. I still rode the cart at costco and Sam's but pretty soon I won't need to.

Also, this may be TMI, but I no longer have to brace myself against the wall of the bathroom to get my arm far enough around to wipe myself. That was one of my last straws.

While I was on my pre-op diet I noticed that I could move the seat up a couple of notches making it easier to hold the clutch all the way in - I had to move it back after surgery since my stomach was swollen and sore, but I will probably be able to move it all the way up (I'm only 5' tall) after the swelling goes down.
