Tiff.......

I can relate to the car seat thing andddddddd........ I also just out of "curiosity" pulled my seat all the way up and my belly still did NOT touch the steering wheel!!! AWESOME!!

I got an unusual NSV... I was out in the local bar last week... and this guy was talking to my friends daughter and she has seen my before pics and still can't believe I was ever that big..anyway we got to talking weight and I just blurted out I was damn near 400 pounds........... I think I did it for the "shock" factor......he said NO WAY....... and I said.. yes. I am a fat girl.... and my friends daughter said yes I seen the pics.. but she's not now but you can't convence her she is skinny.......

My head is still a "fat girl"...... I am still having trouble with it.

How can I feel so good? and still think I am fat?

I remeber you saying how you seen "light" between your legs when you put them together......... When I stand up and put my feet together....... I can't even get my knees to touch each other! I see LOTS OF LIGHT!!

I know I still have 20 pounds to go to.. and wonder where it will come from.. I havn't been "working" my sleeve........ I hope I didn;'t get too comfortable where I am... or maybe my body is just telling me I will always be a "big girl" I am 5'8" and very big boned... but everyone is telling me I am "tiny".... I am so mentally confused......

Chancie, for me it's mentally draining. My 3rd friend just had sleeve surgery yesterday with my surgeon because of her seeing me shrink away over the last year, and then seeing my full before/after pictures on Facebook.< /span>

I still "think" fat sometimes. I've gotten critical of my body, I nitpick every little wrinkle, every little dimple, every little crease from excess skin, but I think I'm starting to grasp it mentally. I can't and won't ever look like a supermodel, and I need to let that go. I need to accept me for me just like I did when I was 270lbs.

Mentally, this journey is more draining than any physical aspect. I know one day I'll accept myself, my creases, my baby fat roll on my tummy, for all the other stuff, there's always the fabulous Florida nip/tuck surgeons LOL.

I had a NSV yesterday, and really appreciated it.

Caysen (my son) had a friend come over for a few hours yesterday afternoon. This kiddo had no idea that I had surgery. He was looking around at our family pictures, and all of the pictures of me around the house are pre-op. He asked Caysen "who is this red-headed lady with you, is that your grandma?"

Caysen just laughed and said "Naw that's my momma." The kiddo didn't believe him, and that's when I had to tell him that I had surgery. Oddly enough this kiddo's aunt (my friend) is the one that just had the sleeve done yesterday. He said " so my auntie is going to get skinny like you?" I told him, she'll lose weight, but more importantly she'll get healthy, and be able to be more active.

The kiddo couldn't believe that was me and that I had a 12yr old son. He told me "you must have been really young when you had him because you can't be very old at all." Again, I just laughed and hugged him.

"Out of the mouth of babes" it's the best compliment I've received in a very long time.

On my way home from the hospital yesterday, I had hubby stop at my mom's house. I sat outside on the patio and talked to her for a few minutes and updated her before we drove the rest of the way home. When I went to leave, I walked into her house through the patio door and didn't notice until I had walked through that it was the first time in years that I hadn't had to turn sideways to walk through that door. The little things really do matter.

Yesterday I was in Wal-Mart and I needed a new pair of jeans. Much to my surprise I was able to fit comfortably into size 36 jeans. I was so happy that I got home and put them right on and left the sticker on them that said size 36! My daughter tried to pull it off but wouldn't let her. I have lost 24 inches around my waist and over 175 pounds. I am still over a month away from my one year anniversary. While recently my weight loss has slowed down I have been working out more and that has really helped move the inches. if I can get down to 34 i can share pants with my step-son!

i was a revision from the band to a sleeve. my sleeve surgery was 4 weeks ago today. i lost 70 lbs with the band and 15 lbs so far with the sleeve. with the band i went from a size 24w pants to a 14w/16w pants. well since i had the sleeve my14w are looking baggy, so this weekend i went shopping. i tried on a 14p pants and they fit good, so i decided to try the 12p. they fit, they were a little snug, but okay. i was so excited. i dont ever remember wearing that size ever.plus everyone at work is calling me skinny. i have never been called that in my whole entire life. ijust cant believe it

I hadn't seen my boyfriend in almost a week because he has been busy with farming. When he walked in today he said "Oh man! you look great!" And then when he hugged me he said I felt smaller  I have only lost 17lbs so far, and I know that is just a drop in the bucket of what I have to lose, but it felt sooooooo good to hear that!:)

I had a new client say to me while we were discussing getting lunch, "You are one of those naturally skinny people"!!! I had to tell him the truth at that point. I don't normally talk about personal things like that at work, but I just had to.

I love Yoga. I go to hot yoga near my house a couple of times a week. My class usually has a lot of those lean yoga girls in it... and then a few of us regular people sweatin it out in the back row. I was siting on my mat after class one day and glimpsed one of the yoga girls with her flat back and long lean limbs. I didn't really fully process my glimps of this yogi fully, but when I looked up, I realized that it was my reflection in the studio mirror !!!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
