I was standing in the kitchen, when hubby came walking through. I gave him a hug and all of a sudden it occurred to me that I wasn't leaning in to hug him. My tummy has been in the way for years, but now I can stand up straight to hug him. He noticed too, it was awesome. :)

My first NSV is that my hip has not been hurting me since I had surgery. It's amazing what the few pounds I lost on my preop diet and since surgery have done for me. I was having to take a strong NSAID for my hip and another pill to keep the NSAID from messing up my stomach. Now, I don't even need to think about it. My knees feel better too. YAY!

I was weeding the garden yesterday, stood up and my pants fell down to my ankles. Ooops!!! Luckily I was alone.

On the last notch on my belt.

I laughed out loud so hard - I wish I had been there! I can so relate because none of my pants fit me anymore and I have gone through all of my small sizes.:scared0:

I love this thread, we are all so blessed to have been given this opportunity to lose weight. My favorite NSV is that I am virtually sweat free! I was ALWAYS a head sweater (the worst kind to be) running around with nasty wet hair, sooo embarrassing! We were at the zoo recently on a humid 90 degree day and my husband kept inspecting my face and head for any signs of sweat, I was totally sweat free, that alone is worth $16000.00! ;)

That is so cool. I have always been the same way. I so look forward to my 1st sweat free summer day.

I'm 8 days out and had a couple of NSV's today.

1. A shirt that did not fit me becasue it was too small before surgery fit me perfectly today.

2-4. I had 3 different people on 3 different occasions today tell me that they can tell I'm already losing weight because my cheeks aren't as puffy as they remember.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
