I have this thread pinned Daisy! Just wondering if anyone has gotten any good recent deals...I've checked out links and tips posted earlier and haven't had much luck finding the same deals, aside from Unjury. Anyone? I have to start my pre-op in a few weeks :)

I ordered pure Protein Shakes from Amazon.com. They dont taste as good as the Atkins shakes but they have 35 grams of Protein in each can.

Another poster referred me to Jay Robb Protein. I have read many reviews from many sites which say this taste amazing. I will be ordering some soon and will update my experience. Here is a link to their sample packs. http://www.jayrobb.com/protein/whey-protein-samples.asp

Thanks, I just ordered the sample packet..I tried the tropical dreamsicle once before and didn't like it, it just tasted like Water to me, I'm hoping to like one of the other flavors because I've heard the Jay Robb brand is much healthier for you.

I have tried all the Jay Robb whey now. I do not like the tropical dreamsicle or pina colda. Not that they taste bad just I did not find the flavor. I love the chocolate and that is usually a flavor I don't like. The vanilla is great by itself but especially for mixing flavors in. I also enjoyed the strawberry.

I like Body Fortress whey isolate chocolate, its the best I have tried so far. EAS was okay but has a bland chocolate taste that leaves a weird after taste. I also get Protein from Cottage cheese and Yogurt. Next week I can add pureed meats and vegetables, So I can change it up some. This is the easiest thing I have ever did diet wise. The sleeve is absolutely amazing!

I have the Jay Robb powders in chocolate and vanilla and am enjoying both of them. I've been using my nutri bullet to blend the powder with ice, almond milk, and half a banana...tastes like a milkshake:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
