melissa, you are of course welcome. I called to confirm that there would be 6 or 8 of us and they said there were no reservations. But we should have a fairly short wait. Here is the address, as I just learned that there are 3 Olive Gardens in Naperville. Can't wait to see you all there.

Hey Mandy,

I'm in Bolingbrook and wondering who you had for a surgeon and how the procedure went.

I had sugery in the city, and was unhappy with the surgeon and he is in california now. I use Dr. Lahmann at Silver Cross Hospital. I think they are great. Let me know if you want or need more information. ~Mandy

Ok, the 5 of us met yesterday, and I had a great time. I would like to do this again next month. Lets plan this early so we can all mark the calender and have the day free. When? Where? And who's in? ~Mandy

I would like to try a different place next time, same area though. I think that my portion will be much smaller next time. I am going to get a fill sometime in the next 2 weeks. ~Mandy

Of course count me in as well! I will actually be banded next time!! Yeah!

Thanks ladies for answering my endless questions! Tomorrow's the day. I've been excited up until today. Now I have to admit I'm a little scared. Plus my son's asthma is acting up today, so part of me is saying that I should stay home with him. But I know that being alive for him is one of the main reasons I'm doing this. It's just hard.

lala---I hope that everything goes well for you! It will totally all be worth it! You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Mandy---Count me in, however I already know that I am not available Feb. 4th (my bday) and Feb. 11th. Just to give you a heads up!

Glad to hear that you all had a great time! I am really sorry that I could not make it! I have been having a rather difficult time eating lately anyways...

Cassandra, my b-day is the 8th. I was thinking the 24th or 25th? How's that for everyone? ~Mandy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
