This is about an hour for me but that is fine. My broth lives around there and maybe I will stop in for a visit while I am in the area.

Thanks Mandy for coordinating.

Hi everyone-

I am glad to see we are still planning on meeting this sunday. I live in the city so naperville is pretty far but that's ok with me too. Cracker Barrel probably wouldn't be my first choice and i bet it is packed on a sunday but i am flexible. I am really trying to watch what i eat so i would prefer a place to get a salad...maybe a panera? Again, i am sure i can find something at cracker barrel if that is where everyone wants to go. Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to lunch!

Panera is fine with me also. Do they have veggie options? We do have at least one vegatarian joining us, Hi veggiestyle!! I'm cool with just about anywhere, I was just trying to think of a place that would let us sit and talk. Panera ok with everyone else? ~Mandy

i am currently suffering from a Panera chicken Noodle Soup addiction. i know most of my calories should come from food and not soup but I can't help myself. i LOVE it and would probably go there every day but my DH would get a little freaked by all the 3.70$ withdrawls on my debit card so i try and not be a panera chicken soup stalker.

So Panera works for me. :heh:

There is a Panera in naperville - one is on 59 but before the fox valley madness by the Harlem furniture

Should we try something still suburban but closer to the city? Are you guys more off a particluar highway? should we get something close to 55 or one of the 290/4 highways?

How about Oakbrook?

It's off off 88 yet close to the 290/4 highways - accessible from 355 and 55...

Either is fine with me....I know we have people from everywhere coming. I love Panera's black bean Soup. I also like the turkey sandwich with no bread, they have this great ale mustard with sun dried tomatos....yummmmm. ~Mandy

Sonia-your chicken noodle Soup post is cracking me up!!! I might need to try it if it is so great! :)

Oakbrook sounds great! I think panera always offers a veggie soup and they have lots of salads...so i think that would work. Again, whatever the group wants. I can also meet before 3 if that helps Cassandra out...keep me posted!

So at todays Panera lunch adventure - i thought I would step away from my CNSA* and get something else.

Ordered the Fji apple chicken salad. Sounded fabulous.

Fuji Apple Chicken All-natural citrus-herb chicken, field greens, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pecans, gorgonzola cheese, apple chips & our white balsamic Fuji apple vinaigrette. Got to work with my salad (and yes bowl of Soup - someone find me a support group please! - wanted a back up plan in case i didnt like the salad) and was all excited.

The apple vinegrette was Delicious!!

Then I noticed something was missing in my Fuji Apple Chicken Salad.

No Chicken for me!! :omg:

Now above the salads it says something like you can always add chicken to your salads for Protein blah blah.

Well i didnt ask for it special becuase it was ya know in its title and salad description!

So picked at it a little, had some of the apple crips and yup had the soup.

*CNSA: Chicken Noodle Soup Addiction.

CNSA-Anonymous meeting to be held Sunday.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
