Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted August 29, 2009 Dr. Aceves had us do 10 days clear liquid 10 days full liquid then 10 days of mushies. I think it's pretty common to do an acid reducer for a period of time.
Tiffykins 673 Posted August 29, 2009 Clears for 14 days (I did 17). Then I did a combination of full liquids/mushies for another 2 weeks. I was over a month out due to the leak before I ever started full liquids.

DownInSocal 12 Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) If I am allowed to advance to mushies on September 17th I will have been on liquids 23 days plus 2 pre op. Edited August 30, 2009 by DownInSocal Because my ability to spell was taken out with my stomach.
cajun 46 Posted August 30, 2009 The good thing about that is you will probably lose more weight than if you advanced sooner! Just trying to see the bright side!
Jagator88 1 Posted August 30, 2009 If I am aloud to advance to mushies on September 17th I will have been on liquids 23 days plus 2 pre op. Did your doctor require that many days or did you do them by choice?
ALISIA 1 Posted August 30, 2009 my doc requires a full month on broth Jello and Optifast only nothing close to solid. then a month of mushies then soft solids. its not that bad now because i really dont feel for much. i get some nausea after anything goes down and i am scared to death of throwing up so i dont take chances. Dang that's a long time on liquids -- I thought 10 on clear, 10 on fulls was bad enough -- 10 on mushies wasn't bad, except that I was actually on them a lot longer than that -- I am just now venturing into real "solid" food and I do it very cautiously. Hang in there, you'll make it through it and watching the scale move down is always a GREAT incentive!
DownInSocal 12 Posted August 30, 2009 Did your doctor require that many days or did you do them by choice? Required. In fact a not so nice member of the "team" emailed me the day before my surgery to make sure I was still on clears and said they could tell if I was following my diet after surgery and staying on liquids. I was being scolded and had done nothing wrong. I won't do anyting to risk my staple line (and by proxy my life) so I am just going to trod through however long he sees fit to keep me on liquids. MacMadame 81 Posted September 1, 2009 Liquids is 2-3 weeks in my program. If you move to the next phase and have problems, you have to move back to liquids as well.
