Rosey.......get with your PCP. Simple urine test to see if you have one will give you (and me) a whole lot of peace of mind.

My sister ignored symtoms of a bladder infection and ended up in the hospital with an infection in her kidneys. She was really, and I mean REALLY sick and she didn't just have major surgery like you did. It took her weeks to recover. She could have died.

I wonder if the loss of urgency might be due to the fact that there is so much less abdominal mass pressing down on the bladder once you have lost 20 or 30 lbs. Pick up a 20 or 30 lb child, and imagine feeling that weight sitting on top of your lower abdomen with a bull bladder....

It might just be this mechanical reason.

How many of you no longer have stress incontinence ( a little involuntary leaking when you cough, sneeze, or strain), since your surgery?

I haven't paid attention to that, but now that you mention it I do think the stress incontinence has gotten better. I can't remember any episodes since surgery. That would be a blessing! After having 4 babies, crossing my legs while sneezing became normal! It wasn't bad, but enough to be aggrivating.

I don't know if it was tape burn, but I had two spots where the tape was that got irritated & itched like crazy.

Yes, I had "tape burn" -- if fact you can still see where I put a large bandage over the drain site incision and that was 2 months ago!

guess I'll add hypoallergenic tape to my list of things to take to the hospital with me when I go.
