I was 38 on the day of my surgery and turned 39 10 days later. I'm going to stay part of this group until the very last minute, lol!!! Although, I'm looking forward to turning forty and being FABULOUS by that time next year!!! :)

Class of '96 here!.. 33 years old.. I have been battling weight since having my first child in 97, along came #2 in 99 since then it has been a constant struggle. Not one I ever had to contend with before.

No surgery date as I just was approved for all the pre stuff today.. Calling on Monday to make my first appointment because the Nurse was not at her desk when I was in the office or when I called later that day..

I live in Orange Park Florida and looking to connect with anyone going through, been through, considering etc.. WLS

Im 38, will be 39 in April. Grrr. Class of 1991. North Texas girl here/ Had my sleeve aug 15 of this year. I am a month out now. Down 32 lbs. feeling good. I have kids 24 - adopted, 19 16 and 10. I mentioned something about hair bands the other day. And they started laughing and thought I was kidding until I explained what hair bands aka music bands and sounds were. LOL

I'm 36 and live in Atlanta. My surgery is Aug. 31 -- in 13 days!

Is anybody else out there hoping to be done "cooking" (losing weight and getting tucked) in time for their 20th high school reunion? I'm just two years away from that, and I hope I'll be pretty close.

Hi All, 36 here from Phenix City Alabama and just starting my process towards the surgery.....I am a military spouse and mother of 2 teen boys 18 and 15. I am hoping the road to surgery isn't to long as I am so ready since I finally made the decision to do it. My reunion is about 2yrs off as well, hadn't really thought about it. I laugh everytime I look at the old styles that are back, but oh to wear slouch boots and skinny jeans again and rock them....lol Looking forward to getting on the way!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
